The MMOsketeers #9: 2012-04-17

1 hour 10 mins - Published Tue, Apr 17, 2012 by Arkenor Oakshadow, Petter Mårtensson and Teppo Tastic

Picture, if you will, an alternate universe in which three shadowy figures gather in the quiet April twilight. In their hands they clutch the tools of their work; sheaves of notes, and quills of the sharpest quality bristle from their pockets.

But fear not, gentle reader; no surreptitious scheming or malevolent plot-meet be this! Nay, they are just there to discuss the many affairs of the week, possessing a fiery determination to scribe every word and send the knowledge of their discourse thence, to all whomever it might interest.

As it turns out, that world is very similar to our own, and what we lack in quills and excellent hats, we make up for with the power of the internet. So it was that the Three MMOsketeers did gather once more, virtually speaking, and discuss this week in MMO gaming. Which may or may not have included:

  • Star Wars: The Old Republic – 1.2, the Rakghoul event, and the slightly peculiar free time offer.
  • Everquest 2‘s Game Update 63, and the last word, for now, on the ProSiebenSat deal
  • Questions from Twitter are contemplated, cogitated, and duly dispatched, including much musing on why instancing and/or multiple servers are necessary.
  • Ark sings the praises of Legend of Grimrock (Not literally. This time.), while Petter waxes whimsical about Wakfu.
  • And much, much more.*
