Instanews #17: 2012-04-04

54 mins - Published Wed, Apr 4, 2012 by Breki Tomasson and Jack Marshall

Another Wednesday, another Geek Positive!

This time around, Breki has microphone issues, we talk Game of Thrones, we talk about the CEO of OMGpop bashing his former employee, Shay Pierce, following his interview with Gamasutra. We also talk about Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs and how similar they look, the upcoming Total Recall movie, a new sequel to Dumb & Dumber, as well as Google’s dive into augmented reality glasses.

The musical feature of the day is I’m the One That’s Cool, a new song from Felicia Day’s new YouTube Channel, Geek & Sundry.

Instanews was another one of Breki's attempts to create a tech news podcast in the long chain of iterative podcasts that includes Geek Positive, CSICON Radio, The Brainstorm and Geekdays. It ran for 129 episodes, initially co-hosted by Jack Marshall and, in the final run of episodes, by Teppo Tastic.

Both Petter Mårtensson and Arkenor Oakshadow featured as regular guests for a segment known as The Deathmatch of Death and More Death, a ladder-style competition that pit heroes and villains from popular culture against each other. Petter and Arkenor would argue the case for their randomly picked hero of the week, and listeners would vote via the website.
