Instanews #29: 2012-05-24

55 mins - Published Thu, May 24, 2012 by Breki Tomasson and Jack Marshall

It’s Geek Positive for Thursday, May 24th!

First off; a twenty minute banter-session, in which we introduce the world to Retrograde, the new podcast on the CSICON Network (Listen to their first episode about Super Mario Kart!), Breki’s awesome Edge glasess from Gunnars, and lawsuits in the mobile world. Then we cover the few topics we have remaining; namely another game delay, a movie delay and a possible halt to the consolely goodness that is the Xbox 360! The horror! Also, a 15-disc special edition of Street Fighter for its 25th anniversary and Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory is gay.

The musical feature for today’s episode is secret! If you like it, you’ll want to listen to it again right here.

Find us at @BrekiT and @Tofu_Jack and the show’s own Twitter; @Geek_Positive; we’ll be back in a couple of days! Also, remember to join the CSICON Network on Reddit! We’re at /r/CSICON.

Instanews was another one of Breki's attempts to create a tech news podcast in the long chain of iterative podcasts that includes Geek Positive, CSICON Radio, The Brainstorm and Geekdays. It ran for 129 episodes, initially co-hosted by Jack Marshall and, in the final run of episodes, by Teppo Tastic.

Both Petter Mårtensson and Arkenor Oakshadow featured as regular guests for a segment known as The Deathmatch of Death and More Death, a ladder-style competition that pit heroes and villains from popular culture against each other. Petter and Arkenor would argue the case for their randomly picked hero of the week, and listeners would vote via the website.
