Movieing On #175: Explorers

37 mins - Published Mon, Jan 4, 2016 by Andrew Moir, Breki Tomasson, Rachel Wake and Toerag

This week, the team joins forces to talk to each other for a solid 38 minutes about the 1985 movie Explorers. You can expect the first act of our discussion to be promising. The second act of our discussion is entertaining and charming, but then everything just falls apart at the third act and leaves you ultimately disappointed. No; wait, that’s what we thought about the movie!

The IMDb synopsis of the movie reads as follows:

A boy obsessed with 50s sci-fi movies about aliens has a recurring dream about a blueprint of some kind, which he draws for his inventor friend. With the help of a third kid, they follow it and build themselves a spaceship. Now what?

Movieing On

Movieing On was a project that we've wanted to do for a long time, and the pieces all fell together in March of 2012, when we began planning the first episode. Featuring some of the CSICON crew's most amazing people, we watch a movie from 1999 or earlier and discuss it.

If you want to get in touch with the people behind the episode or talk to others who like it, feel free to join the CSICONauts chat room. Alternatively, you can find some of this episode's hosts and/or guests on Twitter: Andrew Moir, Breki Tomasson and Toerag.
