In this week’s episode of Movieing On, I sit down with Jack and Erica for a look at WarGames.

WarGames is a 1983 American Cold War science-fiction film written by Lawrence Lasker and Walter F. Parkes and directed by John Badham. The film follows David Lightman (played by Matthew Broderick), a young hacker who unwittingly accesses WOPR, a United States military supercomputer programmed to predict possible outcomes of nuclear war. Lightman gets WOPR to run a nuclear war simulation, originally believing it to be a computer game. The simulation causes a national nuclear missile scare and nearly starts World War III.

Join us again in two weeks, when we’ll be covering a great movie from 1985, Back to the Future!

Movieing On

Movieing On was a project that we've wanted to do for a long time, and the pieces all fell together in March of 2012, when we began planning the first episode. Featuring some of the CSICON crew's most amazing people, we watch a movie from 1999 or earlier and discuss it.

If you want to get in touch with the people behind the episode or talk to others who like it, feel free to join the CSICONauts chat room. Alternatively, you can find some of this episode's hosts and/or guests on Twitter: Breki Tomasson and Jack Marshall.
